Artificial intelligence includes three components namely, linguistic competence, visual-spatial intelligence, and intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligence. Linguistic competence refers to the ability to use language in the negotiation of cultural situations. Visual-spatial intelligence is concerned with an individual’s capacity to perceive and learn information from images, videos, and books. Intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligence is concerned with one’s ability to interact with others, making connections, and acting in a socially acceptable manner. These components of artificial intelligence are interrelated and depend on each other for optimal performance.
There has been much debate on the validity of intelligence tests based on knowledge acquisition, reasoning, memory, and linguistic competence alone. Research in the last 20 years has suggested that the extent of the influence of IQ in the determination of societal outcomes may be underestimated due to the low level of variability between individuals. On the other hand, experts have maintained that there is a strong relationship between art and intelligence. In a recent review, this author concluded that knowledge, not only of the arts but of all human endeavors, is a key to a happy and successful life.
